ΜΙΝΙΑΤURES  /  ANGELS & DEMONS (2009)

 1:3 scale miniature set extension of the Santa Maria della Vittoria Roman Catholic church for the 2009 feature film 'Angels & Demons'.

 

Frescoes were layered upon a plywood ceiling structure, then retouched to create a hand-painted texture. Model makers detailed the ceiling with sculpted angels and cherubs. Smoke was then rolled up into the rafters and shot by Visual Effects Supervisor Angus Bickerton at high-speed with flame lighting effects.
